Todoist: To-Do List & Planner App Reviews

The best

Best and most used app on my phone. Got used to its basic features and then decided to upgrade to Premium (which I rarely do for apps). Love the ability to set recurrences in intuitive ways, sort by various criteria, and visually the layout makes sense. Wont go back to any other Time/Task management tool

pure love

I love this app. Simple, intuitive, a joy to work with.

iOS9 ... So much better

The Todoist app was already pretty good ... And now the latest update for iOS 9 makes it so much snapper. The home screen 3D Touch options are perfect for me (quickly adding a task!!). And the Apple Watch app is waay more usable. All thats left in my wish list is Siri integration. I made the switch to Premium a few months ago and havent regretted it once ... Especially now with this update :)

Not for me

Probably to do with the "free" version but does not do the job of task management (2Do) as well as many others available. Latest version does not allow setting a task to reoccurring, there is a menu choice "more" presumably to do that but it just closes the app when selected.

Great!

It does what it is supposed to do - which can be very difficult to find! Though, a recurring task function would be a huge plus. Everybody has things that need to be tended to regularly; watering plants, laundry, exercise, etc. This app isnt very useful for those types of activities - hope to see that in a future update!

Good

Please add ability to dismiss the keyboard on drag after adding a new task. I find it slow and awkward having to tap "Close" just to indicate that Im done typing and want to see whole list. Thanks.

Crashes and Shutsdown version 11.0.1 March 3, 2016

I just updated to version 11.0.1 today March 3, 2016 on my iPhone 6s Plus and the app will not open now. It immediately crashes/shuts down upon opening. I have shut down and restarted my iPhone but it will no longer work. Please fix asap as I am in the field and now out of contact via the app with my team.

Crash -works again!

Reboot 2 time, doesnt works... Delete the app and reinstall, still doesnt work Reboot again... Hourrah!

Game Changer

Really useful to-do list app which seemingly gets better with every update. Mac Desktop version is great too. Offers Apple Watch for timely reminders if you have the premium version which I do for just that and the automatic backups. You can share lists (projects) between users and assign tasks to different people which is great. Far superior to native iOS apps like Reminders. Cloud functionality is super smooth. Rarely write reviews but this app deserved one.

Was great, now crashes

I love this app in general, but suddenly it crashes all the time in my iPad. What a pain...

Really like the app

I really like this app. It really helps to lay out tasks that have sub tasks. I have trouble getting the location reminders to work on my 6s for some reason.

Yikes

I never write reviews but this app is a pure waste of time. In app purchases to so anything close to the free reminders app. Then you delete it cause its garbage and start getting spam emails... and unsubscribing is a pain in the bum too! Yikes

Unreliable and fundamentally flawed.

Have been using todoist for years as a productivity tool as well as idea store for my creative projects. The latest update wiped 900 of my tasks from my device and cloud. Thats nearly 10 years of my creative work gone. I strongly advise you to use any other product as apparently even their cloud is faulty. OmniFocus is my new go-to.

Hands Down Best App

For years Ive tried all sorts of productivity apps to track projects, errands, todos, etc. This one is by far the best one. It is extremely well integrated in all of my devices (Apple) and has every feature I ever wanted in an app. Furthermore, the app itself is very well made, the interactions are intuitive and efficient so you dont get annoyed drilling down into item details. I strongly recommend this app for everyone.

Decent to do app

I apologize this review is a bit lengthy. I would say it is decent overall. If youre looking for a basic app that allows you to categorize tasks and assign due dates to them then this will work. One of the biggest advantages to me is that it works on both MacBooks, iPhones and Windows since I use all those platforms in my daily work. Im only giving it three stars because it does have some features which personally I find a bit lacking. One of the biggest flaws in my mind is the inability to easily assign a date to a task. The application wants you to spell out a day and time (example typing: tomorrow at 3 PM ) instead of allowing you to choose from a drop-down calendar. I find a drop-down calendar is so much quicker and easier to use. Secondly, as with most people in their daily routines, I often have to turn emails into tasks. On the Windows platform this is not so easy to do. You actually have to go to the folder in Windows Todoist application where you want the task to wind up and copy the distinct email address for that folder. Then you have to go back to the email in Outlook and send that email to the Todoist application by pasting the Todoist email address into the recipient box then sending the email to that address. This is rather clumsy and time-consuming. When youre dealing with many emails a day this all adds up. Lastly, this whole karma thing is a bit annoying. I know you can turn it off, but I would prefer that the developer take their time and effort to improve the application (create more layouts for printing for instance ) rather than spending time on useless information about how much karma you have accumulated from using the app. Just give me a basic cross platform app that enables me to easily turn emails into tasks and allows me to sort and print task lists in various layouts and I will be happy. Five stars forthcoming.

Expensive to do anything useful

Stuff that comes free in almost every other app costs a lot in this. I would have paid $10 for a pro version of the app but three times that for the annual subscription isnt worth it to get reminders.

GTD Monster but...

Missing easy access to search and add button on the home screen...

Enjoying

to be productive

Love it!

Intuitively helps to organize, prioritize, and schedule within a todo list. And Todoist Karma is surprisingly motivating and informative.
